Successful Conclusion of the 2nd ZAP Cancer Symposium
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana organized a symposium as part of the ZAP Cancer Project. Two renowned experts from the Medical University of Graz, Division of Oncology Prof. Dr. Philipp Jost, Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Graz and Head of the Department of Oncology, and his colleague Dr. Michael Dengler gave their presentations at the symposium. They were joined by Dr. Tanja Jesenko from the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana.
Dr. Dengler’s lecture focused on how to “Modulate programmed cell death in cancer”, followed by Dr. Jesenko, who presented the “Current research of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana”. The final lecture on “Molecular cancer therapeutics in the age of personalized medicine”was given by Prof. Dr. Jost.
The event attracted a broad audience of researchers, clinicians and students and provided an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange and to promote future collaboration between the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana and the Medical University of Graz.
